Branding | 2024
Client Overview
The Ethiopian Investment Commission, in partnership with Kingdom Holdings, China Hemp Textile Industry Association (CBLFTA), and the Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp, hosted the “Enter Ethiopia-2024 Global Flax Textile Forum.”
This high-profile event aimed to promote sustainable development in the flax industry, enhance the competitiveness of flax products in the market, and increase foreign investment in Ethiopia.
Project Overview
I was tasked with creating the event branding for this forum, which focused on sustainability, traceability, and innovation in the flax industry. The branding needed to represent both Ethiopia’s heritage and the global nature of the flax textile industry.

Design Challenge
The primary challenge was to merge four key elements into a cohesive visual identity: Africa, Ethiopia, Linen, and Textile. The client, Kingdom Holdings, has a traditional approach, so it was important to respect this while creating a design that feels modern and suitable for an industrial event.
Design Solution
Logo Design: The logo integrates the shapes of the Africa and Ethiopia maps, symbolizing the region’s significance in the global flax industry.
Color Palette: Inspired by Ethiopia’s flag and Kingdom Holding’s brand identity, the design features harmonized shades of green and yellow, creating a fresh and cohesive aesthetic, with green as the dominant color.
Background Pattern: A custom pattern incorporates Amharic typography for ‘flax’ alongside traditional African textile motifs, tying the event to Ethiopia’s cultural heritage.
Typography & Modern Aesthetic: The final design is clean, modern, and industrial, reflecting the professionalism of the event and its emphasis on innovation in the flax and textile industries.
